Dr Larry Staner was a close friend of mine. Dr Staner was the outreach
pastor for Church of the Open Door. Dr Staner was a Board Member of Agora
Evangelism Ministries. But, most importantly, Dr Staner was a soul winner.
Dr Staner was the greatest man I have ever met. He dedicated his life to
leading people to a saving knowledge of Christ. He dedicated his life to
training other Christians to have a passion and an ability to sharing their
faith in an effective manner. He dedicated his life to helping churches all
over the world set up very productive evangelism/outreach programs.
I met Dr Staner several years ago when I attended a Soul Winners’ Club Director’s College. At the time God had given me a passion for reaching the lost but I had no idea how to go about it. Dr Staner showed me in a few days what years of seminary was not able to—how to be an effective soul winner.
We never know why God takes His children home. The only thing I do know is that I have lost a friend, Church of the Open Door has lost a great leader, and the world has lost one of the most effective soul winners of our time.
