Soul Winners' Club

What It Is  

Imagine, over 100 members of your church out in the community every week, witnessing for Jesus. A lot of Christians, a lot of churches, want to reach out to their communities with the gospel of Jesus Christ but they aren’t sure how to effectively accomplish what God has laid on their hearts. It is said, “inspiration without education leads to frustration.” The only thing these churches need is someone to show them how to put together an effective evangelism/outreach program for their Jerusalem.  

The Soul Winners’ Club is a 12 week training course for personal evangelism repeated 4 times annually at your church. It is a program designed to energize and train the lay people in your church to make them effective, enthusiastic soul winners. Soul Winners’ Club teaches personal evangelism using:

• On-the-job training (2-by-2 soul winning)
• Bible verse memorization
• Motivational sermons on CD
• Classroom lecture
• Reading assignments (Bible and textbook)  

Getting Started  

Your Agora Evangelism Representative will meet with you or your outreach director one evening a week for 12 weeks. The goal will be 2-fold.  

First, the Agora Evangelism Representative will take you through the course exactly the way you will train your congregation. You will go through the course work, the lectures, the verse memorization and (most importantly) the 1-on-1 on-the-job training. You will go out each week to watch the Agora Evangelism Representative witness in various situations using the 12-point method. And, when you are ready, you will start to witness.  

Second, the Agora Evangelism Representative will show you how to set up an effective outreach/visitation program that is centered around winning your Jerusalem to the Lord and building the body of Christ. This will include:

• The logistics necessary to maintain an effective outreach program
• Types of visits and how to find them
• Fruitful follow-up techniques
• Getting the new converts to church
• Promoting personal evangelism from the pulpit      

Keeping the Ball Rolling  

After you (or your outreach director) complete the 12 week course with the Agora Evangelism Representative, you will be prepared to grow the Soul Winners’ Club in your church. You will pick one individual to train for the next 12 weeks. You will meet one night a week for classroom training and one night a week for visitation/soul winning.  

At the completion of the course, the 2 of you will pick another 2 church members for training. Again, at the end of the next 12 week session, the 4 of you will pick another 4 to train. By the end of the first two years you have the potential to have trained over 100 church members (1-on-1) to be soul winners.  

The core of the Soul Winners’ Club is the individual attention the trainees receive on visitation. You start with two and double each session. The progression of training is ideal for any size church—whether you are a new church plant or a mega-church.  

William is Home Now  

It was a Thursday and I talked to three gentlemen about the gospel. It turned out that of the three, one was the grandfather, one was the father and the other was the son (all three adults). I went through the gospel and found out that the grandfather and the son knew that they were saved. The father (William) wasn’t sure. William’s son turned to him and said, “Dad, we never know how much time we have. You should accept Christ as your Savior.” William was only 49 years old but he agreed with his son. He bowed his head and asked Jesus to come into his heart.   

That night at home William told his Christian wife what he had done. She was overjoyed with the news. He told her that it was about time he went to church. William went to church and told the pastor that he had realized he was a sinner and needed Jesus in his heart. He told the pastor that he took care of that on Thursday.   

Tuesday, same as everyday, William went to work. The only difference was, he never came home. On the way home from work William died of a heart attack. His funeral was on Thursday – one week after he asked Jesus to come into his heart. William is home with the Lord now.  

Your Investment  

Initial: The only investment obligation, up-front, is:

• One trainee kit, $30
• Tracts (usually use about 500 the first session) $5/100 tracts
• Follow-up books (usually give out 20) $1.50/book
• A dedicated time commitment  

End of the First 12 Weeks: After the first 12 week course, if you find this an effective method of evangelism and evangelism training, you will need to invest in a director’s kit. The director’s kit retails for around $260.   We would also ask for you to consider taking  Agora Evangelism on as a missionary. Our representatives work at your church for free. We are able to do this because the churches before you felt the program was so valuable, they wanted to support us as we ministered to your church.  

Long Term Investment: The only long term investment to the church is in tracts and follow-up material. It is suggested that the individual church members invest in their own trainee kits in order to have a feeling of ownership in the course.
